Attach a Form Task Option

Motion.io’s forms are a simple, powerful, and automated way to onboard clients and get the information you need in white-labeled client portals.

This article will provide instructions for creating custom forms with Motion.io's drag-and-drop builder and then using the Attach a form task option to include them in tasks clients can complete directly within their portals.

Creating Forms

Before you can attach forms to tasks client can complete in their portal, you must first create the form (or forms) you'd like to use. Motion.io provides two convenient options for creating forms using the same drag-and-drop builder.

Create Forms Using the Task Composer

Toggling on the "Attach a form" task option in Motion.io's task composer will open a modal window that allows you to select from forms you've already created or create an entirely new one.

To create a new form, click the "Create Form" button. After saving, the form will automatically be added to your Forms library, allowing you to reuse it for tasks you create in other projects or templates.

Create Forms in the Forms Library

In addition to creating forms from Motion.io's task composer, you can create from your account's forms library, which provides a view of all forms within your account. To do this, click "Forms" from the sidebar and "Create Form" in the upper left corner.

How to Attach Forms to Client Tasks

To attach a form to a client task, open a project and click "Create Task." In the task composer, click the toggle labeled "Attach a form" and select the form you want to use from the dropdown.

How to Require a Signature on Forms

After attaching a form to a client task, you can toggle on the Require Signature task option to automatically add a signature field to the bottom of your selected form.

👋 Tip: When you require a client to provide their signature on a form, your team can download a PDF copy of the completed submission with their signature included. Click here to learn more.
