How to Create Forms in Motion.io

There are two ways to create forms using the same drag-and-drop builder: from the Forms Library or in projects directly using Motion.io's task composer. The sections below will explain how each option works.

Creating Forms via the Forms Library

Clicking on "Forms" in the sidebar of your Motion.io will bring you to the page where you can view all of the forms you've created previously, download submissions, and create new forms.

To create a new form from scratch, click the "Create Form" button in the upper left corner.

Alternatively, you can use Motion.io's AI-Powered Form Builder to do the heavy lifting of creating a form for you. Describe the form you want Motion.io to build for you and click "Create Form." Once your form is generated, you'll have full access to edit and add to the fields Motion.io creates.

Creating Forms Directly Within Projects or Templates

In a Motion.io project or template, clicking the "Form" option in the task composer will open a modal window that allows you to select from forms you've already created or create an entirely new one.

To create a new form, click the "Create Form" button. After saving, the form will automatically be added to the task and to your Forms Library, allowing you to reuse it in other projects or templates.

How to Use the Form Builder

Regardless of how you create a form initially, whether that's directly from the Motion.io task composer, the forms library, or with the help of Motion.io's AI-powered form builder, you'll be able to use the same familiar drag-and-drop interface to edit that form.

Adding New Form Fields

Motion.io's drag-and-drop builder makes adding new fields to any spot within a form easy. Simply navigate to the place within your form you'd like to add a field, click "add new," and select the field type you wish to add.

Editing Form Fields

Motion.io provides various settings to customize each field within your form to your business's needs. To make a field not required, add labels, and set form conditions or custom fields you want to populate, hover over a form field and click the "Settings" wheel to the left of that field. In the dropdown, select the setting you wish to modify.
