Form Field Groups
You can now create repeating groups of related form fields to collect multiple instances of the same data type. For example, instead of adding five separate “Owner” sections to your form, you can create one “Owner” field group containing fields like name, email, and phone number. Clients can then add as many owners as needed using this single, repeatable field group.
How Form Field Groups Work
Form Field Groups let you bundle related questions into a single, repeatable unit. For example, instead of adding five separate “Owner” sections to your form, you can create one Owner field group containing all the relevant fields (like name, email, and phone number).
When your client fills out the form, they’ll see a button labeled “+ Add another Owner.” Each time they click it, a new set of those fields appears. This means:
- A more flexible client experience – Clients can provide as much or as little information as needed, without being forced through irrelevant or redundant fields.
- Cleaner, simpler forms – Instead of cluttering forms with multiple duplicate fields, you can create a single, expandable group.
- Less admin setup – You and your team don’t need to build separate fields for every possible scenario. One group handles them all.
Better organized data – Each entry is kept structured and distinct, making it easier to reference later.
Now, your form can adapt dynamically to the client’s needs — whether they’re entering one response or ten.
How to Set Up a Form Field Group
Add a Field Group
Select a form you want to edit from the Forms page (or build a new one), click "Add New" and select "Field Group" from the option menu.
Click the Group Label area to name your group

Add Fields to the Group
Inside the group, click the "Add New" option to insert any field you want to include. Some examples include:
- Multiple Contacts: Gather names, emails, and roles for any number of team members or stakeholders involved in the project.
- Multiple Locations: Collect structured address details for each of your client’s offices or service areas.
- Multiple Products or Services: Let clients submit key info for each product, service, or asset without cluttering your form layout.
Customize the Group
Once your field group is set, simply enable the Repeatable option by clicking the gear next to the group name and customize the group label—this allows your clients to add as many entries as needed when submitting the form.

Additional Features
Once your form is saved, attach it to a task or Portal Tab to share it with your clients!

You can also:
- Apply conditional logic to entire repeatable groups or individual fields within them—based on answers to questions elsewhere in your form.
- Drag and drop fields into the group to organize them
- Duplicate the entire group if you need to reuse the structure in another section of the form.
- Export the form data and see each group submission in the table structure
Repeatable Form Field Groups make Motion.io’s forms smarter and more adaptive. Instead of trying to predict every possible client scenario, you can give clients control over how much information they share — keeping your forms simple, scalable, and more user-friendly.
