Inviting Clients to Multiple Projects

In scenarios where you are working on separate projects for the same client(s) or business organization, Motion.io allows you to invite clients to each project they need access to and toggle between them from the same client portal.

How Clients Switch Between Projects

As soon as you invite clients to more than one Motion.io project, they'll automatically have access to all projects they are assigned to. All assigned, active projects will appear in the left hand menu of their portal.

📣 Note: Use the "On Hold" project status to keep it accessible in a client's portal. They can view the tasks for reference, but notifications are paused. Complete and archived projects will not show in a client's portal.

How Notifications Work for Clients Invited to Multiple Projects

Client notifications work the same whether you invite a client to a single project or multiple.

Outside of the invite emails clients receive when invited to portals, Motion.io only sends notifications to clients about tasks you have intentionally assigned to them.

📣 Note: In cases where team members aren't actively involved in a project but still want high-level updates, they can adjust the frequency of email updates they'll receive about each project via their account profile's Notifications page.
