Hide Internal Tasks from Clients

When completing work for clients, there can be times when it's neither necessary nor desired to give customers the full behind-the-scenes picture of what your team is working on.

So your team doesn't have to use a separate project management tool and can collaborate on all aspects of client work inside a single platform, Motion.io allows you to entirely hide Internal Tasks from customers and ensure they are only visible to team members.

How to Hide Internal Tasks from Clients

While the subtasks, files, forms, and messages associated with Internal Tasks always remain hidden from clients, customers can see the Title and Description of Internal Tasks in their portals by default.

To hide Internal Tasks entirely from clients, navigate to the Task Options section at the bottom of the Internal Task Composer and toggle "Hide task from client portal."

đŸ“¢ Note: The process for hiding Internal Tasks in a Motion.io project template follows the exact same process as hiding Internal Tasks in active projects. When you hide Internal Tasks in a template, they are also hidden within any new projects you create from that template.

Hidden vs. Client-Facing Internal Tasks

In scenarios where you hide some—but not all—Internal Tasks from clients, Motion.io clearly differentiates between what Internal Tasks team members can access and what Internal Tasks are visible to clients in their portals.

On your projects' "Tasks" page, Internal Tasks that are hidden from clients will display a crossed-out "eye" icon on the yellow "Internal" label.
