Request Changes on Tasks

When clients complete tasks in their portals but fail to provide everything your team needs, Motion.io's "Request Changes" option lets you send those tasks back to the customer and let them know.

This article will explain how the "Request Changes" feature works for tasks and how your team can use it to gather the information, files, or feedback you need as efficiently as possible.

📣 Note: The "Request Changes" button will appear when for any completed task, regardless of the task options toggled on before sending it.

How to Request Changes on Client Tasks

To request changes on a task, navigate to the "Tasks" page of any active Motion.io project and click on the title of a completed task. At the bottom of the modal, click the "Request Changes" button.

Upon clicking "Request Changes," a comment box will open that asks you to specify to the client what additional information, files, or feedback your team needs to mark that task complete.

How Clients Complete Change Requests on Tasks

After you detail the changes you need your customer to make and click "Save," Motion.io will immediately notify them via email. The link in the email clients receive will take them directly to the task, including a reference to the changes you requested in the comments.

After your client updates the task and clicks "Submit and Mark Completed" in their portal, the task's status will change from "Incomplete" to "Completed" in your admin view of the project.
