Reporting a Bug

While our development team diligently reviews every new feature and update before release, as a rapidly evolving software product, you may occasionally encounter bugs in Motion.io.

This article will detail how to report bugs so our team can fix them as quickly as possible.

How to Report a Bug

When you encounter a bug in Motion.io, please start a support chat or email our support at hello@motion.io to report it. The more information you provide in your initial message, the faster our team can fix them. 

When reporting a bug, we generally recommend you include the following:

  • Explanation of the issue you experienced
  • The steps/actions that led you to experience the issue
  • Any relevant screenshots or screen recordings of the issue
  • The project name, project stage, and task where you encountered the issue (if applicable)

How to Screenshot Errors in the Javascript Console

If our team cannot replicate the issue you experienced, we may request that you screenshot the errors in your browser's Javascript console. While this might sound complicated, the process is straightforward when using the Google Chrome Browser.

To screenshot errors in the Chrome console:

1. While logged into your Motion.io account, open the Chrome menu at the top right corner of the browser window.

2. Select More Tools > Developer Tools, then select the "Console" tab.

3. In Motion.io, follow the same steps as when you first encountered the issue, then take a screenshot of the information that appears in the console.
