Customizing Profiles
Keeping your Motion.io profile up to date helps personalize your workspace and maintain clear communication across your team and clients. Your profile settings allow you to update your display name, contact information, and profile picture—the image that appears next to your comments, messages, and task assignments.
This guide will show you how to update your profile picture and other profile settings.
Accessing Your Profile Settings
Click your current avatar or name in the bottom-left corner of your Motion.io dashboard. From the pop-up menu, select "Profile". This section allows you to manage your personal settings and avatar, separate from account-wide branding.
Updating Your Avatar
Within the profile settings page, hover over your existing avatar (or placeholder image) and click Select Picture to upload your image or Pick Emoji to choose from the emoji library.
After uploading, you’ll often be able to crop or reposition the photo so it looks great when displayed. Once satisfied, click Save to update your avatar across Motion.io.
Editing Other Profile Fields
Underneath your avatar, you’ll see fields you can update, such as your full name (how your name shows up across tasks and comments), email address, phone number, password, and enable MultiFactor Authorization. Make whatever changes you need, and don’t forget to click Save Changes when you’re done!
📢 Note: If you are assigned as a signer on a contract, you will receive a warning message to complete that contract before updating your email address, or void the document and redo the task.
Admins: If you need to update an email address for a team member, you can do so from the "Team" page. Motion.io will send a verification email to the original inbox to approve.
Client Avatars
Your clients can also update their profile photo! They can access their photo settings by clicking their name in the bottom-left corner and selecting "Profile". Hover over the avatar to upload an image or select an emoji avatar.
If they need to update their name or email address, a team member can update this for them via the client directory.
