Adding Clients to the CRM
The "People" tab of Motion.io's built-in CRM allows you to add your clients to Motion.io and have a full view of them, the projects they're on, the emails they've opened, and more.
This article will explain how to add clients directly to the CRM and give them access to their client portal.
How to Add Clients to the CRM
When you invite clients to projects, Motion.io will automatically add them to the "People" tab of the CRM. If you'd like to add clients to the CRM and give them access to their portal before inviting them to a project, Motion.io allows you to do so.
To create a new client, click the "Add Person" button in the upper right corner. In the modal, enter the client's details. After clicking "Save Person" the client you entered the details for will automatically receive an email with a magic link that allows them to access their portal.
👋 Tip: When adding a new client, the "Company" field lets you associate them with a company. You can assign clients to a company you created previously by selecting it from the dropdown or create a new company for them by clicking the "+" icon on the right side of the modal.
View a Client's Portal
After adding your client, you can preview the portal you invited them to by going to the "Clients" tab, clicking on their name on and then "View Portal."
Resend a Client Invite Email
If you'd like to resend a portal invite to a client, click on their name and then the "Send invite" button.
